Professional Organizer Job
Are you someone that LOVES and feels they were born to organize! Do you get excited transforming a cluttered kitchen drawer into an organized drawer? Please only apply if organizing comes VERY NATURALLY to you! Please note that this is very, very part time. Work weeks may be from 4 – 20 hours. This is not an opening for someone that wants to be trained to have their own organizing business. If you agree with all the above, here’s what we’re looking for and how to apply:
Our company helps people make their lives easier by decluttering and organizing spaces within the home. This professional organizer job opening is for someone who wants more than just a job. This job uses creative problem-solving skills for problems in clients’ homes. This is physical work, but very rewarding as we make people happy and create a big difference in their lives.
Things to note:
- This is independent contractor (1099) work, so there are no benefits.
- NO felony convictions or criminal history (background check will be made).
- Interviews are by appointment only – NO phone calls.

Requirements:
- Team mentality or is self-motivated when working alone
- Must be dependable and punctual!

- Willing to work occasional weekends

- Ability to drive around the Houston area
- Have contractor’s insurance or willingness to procure it
Role and responsibilities on job site include, but not limited to:
- Work with or without client to meet their organizing goals OR be responsible for sorting, moving and storing items on site with direction from lead organizer
- Help clients sort, prioritize, make decisions and edit belongings
- Maintain a tidy and professional environment throughout the course of an organizing session
- Create systems with the items that clients keep after editing
- Suggest and possible use of organizing products (if necessary)
- Label containers using a label maker or ordered label
- Assemble shelves when necessary
- Keep some supplies stocked in vehicle
- Put trash and/or recycling into appropriate receptacles
- Transport organizing materials, donated items, shredding or other to appropriate off-site locations when necessary
Administrative responsibilities:
- Send in product tally form with hours and photos after each session
- Take bi-monthly inventory to keep supplies stocked
- Coordinate with lead organizer on upcoming project
- Input unavailable time on company calendar
- Review calendar daily for upcoming assigned projects
- Attend and participate in organizer meetings
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs, bending, squatting, lifting and reaching
- Ability to be on your feet (stand or walk) for 3-8 hours
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to carry boxes or bags downstairs
- Ability to work in different conditions such as cold or heat, or with odors from dust, pets, or fragrances

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
